Fans of several popular Black-led television dramas have reason to celebrate. Paramount+ has renewed four former BET+ series, bringing new seasons of Tyler Perry’s “Divorced Sistas” and “Zatima,” along with Carl Weber’s “The Family Business” and “The Black Hamptons,” to the streaming platform.
The renewals mark a new chapter for the four shows after their move away from BET+. According to Deadline, Paramount+ has picked up additional seasons of all four series as the streamer continues expanding its lineup of Black-focused original programming.
Tyler Perry’s ‘Divorced Sistas’ and ‘Zatima’ Return
Tyler Perry’s “Divorced Sistas” and “Zatima” have developed dedicated fan bases through their stories centered on relationships, friendship, family and the complicated realities of love and adulthood.
“Divorced Sistas” follows a group of women navigating life after marriage while dealing with dating, friendship, career challenges and personal growth.
“Zatima,” a spinoff of Perry’s popular “Sistas,” focuses on Zac and Fatima as they attempt to build a future together while confronting the challenges that come with love, family and their complicated pasts.
The renewals give fans an opportunity to see where the characters’ stories go next.
‘The Family Business’ and ‘The Black Hamptons’ Also Renewed
Also returning is “The Family Business,” based on Carl Weber’s book series. The crime drama follows the Duncan family, a powerful family whose legitimate luxury car business is intertwined with a dangerous criminal enterprise.
“The Black Hamptons” will also return. The series explores the tensions between longtime Black residents of a wealthy Hamptons community and a newly arrived affluent family, bringing questions of class, wealth, power and social status into the storyline.
Both shows have become part of the growing collection of Black-centered dramas available to Paramount+ subscribers.
A New Home for Former BET+ Favorites
The four renewals are significant because they represent a continued investment in series that previously found their audiences on BET+. Paramount+’s decision to bring them back signals that the platform sees value in retaining and expanding these established franchises.
For fans, the biggest takeaway is simple: the stories aren’t over.
With “Divorced Sistas,” “Zatima,” “The Family Business” and “The Black Hamptons” all returning, viewers can look forward to more relationship drama, family conflicts, secrets, betrayals and unexpected twists when the shows make their next appearances on Paramount+.
