Wendy Williams Endorses Sherri Shepherd As Temporary Fill-In On Her Show

Wendy Williams is pleased with the choice to have Sherri Shepherd as a permanent guest host on her show.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, a high-ranking source inside Wendy’s camp says that Wendy is happy with the decision to have Sherri on while she recovers. She’s also grateful for the other guest hosts who have filled in.

The 54-year old daytime talk show host has been open about her past struggles with alcohol, substance abuse, and current health issues.

The source clarified that Wendy has not relapsed nor is she suffering from dementia, which some reports say. The source also said Wendy did not have a stroke or has any terminal illness.

“It’s conditions relating to her Graves’ disease and some other issues.” The source added, “It’s not been easy. It’s going to take some time and some work. Don’t expect her back this year. She’s not ready to host a show now and that’s what matters. She’s not there yet. It’s not fair and not fair to her audience. They deserve 100 percent Wendy.”

Graves’ disease is an immune system disorder that results in the overproduction of thyroid hormones or hyperthyroidism.

The plan is for Wendy to return to the show, healthy and strong for season 15.

“We hope the recovery continues and she’s able to be back in the fall,” says the source. “She does want to come back to the show. It all depends on recovery. She’s working with a team of therapists and the lord above.”
