Viola Davis, Chris Tucker, Marlon Wayans, and More Show Up To ‘Air’ Premiere

The stars showed up and showed out at the “Air” movie world premiere Monday night. The event took place at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

Directed by actor Ben Affleck, “Air” tells the story of Nike’s journey to sign NBA star Michael Jordan, played by Damian Young, and launch Air Jordan sneakers in the 1980s.

The drama stars include Affleck, Matt Damon, and EGOT star Viola Davis — who Jordan himself specifically requested to portray his mother, Deloris Jordan.

During an interview on Entertainment Tonight, Davis said, “You know, you’re flattered at first and then the next second is pressure.”

Of course, the legendary icon will not be starring in the film but it still has a star-studded cast.

The movie follows Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight (Affleck), two determined entrepreneurs who created the company NIKE, Inc., and sports marketing executive, Sonny Vaccaro (Damon), who signed Michael Jordan his first shoe contract.

Other phenomenal actors in the film include Chris Tucker as Howard White, Jason Bateman as Rob Strasser, Marlon Wayan as George Raveling, and Julius Tennon as the father of James R. Jordan.
