Motown’s Star Martha Reeves Raises Funds To Secure Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Motown singer and legend Martha Reeves, from the girl’s group Martha Reeves And The Vandellas, has been a sensation in music since the early 1960s. The group performed classic hits “Jimmy Mack”, “Nowhere To Run”, “Heatwave”, “Dancing In The Streets” and so many other vintage songs.

In 2021, the Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce announced that Reeves was selected to receive a star. This honor also comes with a hefty price tag of $55,000, which covers installation and maintenance. The fee is usually paid by the artist’s label; however, this isn’t the case in Reeve’s situation. The money is due in June so Reeves only has three months left to raise the money before the 2-year nomination window expires.

Reeve’s new manager, Chris Roe, addressed this issue in Detroit Free Press.

“Martha’s former representation got in over their heads on this. They didn’t realize how hard it would be and wasted a year of fundraising time. Now we’re down to the wire.”

Roe added…

“That star is there for generations to come, and Motown will always be stitched into the fabric of our society. So it’s a great accomplishment, Martha is very deserving, and I’m happy to take her across the finish line.”

Reeves and her team are hoping that fans can help by donating. To support this singing legend in her quest to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, visit Chris Roe Management.
