‘Toddlers and Tiaras’ star Kailia Posey has been pronounced dead at the age of 16.

Her mom Marcy Posey Gatterman shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, saying “I don’t have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone. Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever.”

According to her family, Kailia died by suicide. They shared a statement with TMZ.

“Although she was an accomplished teenager with a bright future ahead of her, unfortunately in one impetuous moment, she made the rash decision to end her earthly life.”

The family went on to say that she had plans to continue working in the entertainment industry while pursuing her goal of a commercial pilot’s license.

Reports say that she was found in Birch Bay State Park, in Washington, at around 1:20 pm on Monday.

Kailia was one of the young stars that were featured on TLC network’s hit beauty pageant show. The show ran from 2009 to 2013, and cover the lives of families who entered their children into beauty contests. She won many competitions on the show and was considered a natural.

According to Kailia’s Instagram page, she continued competing over the years.

Kailia is probably most recognized as the popular “grinning girl” GIF online, which is continuously being used on many platforms.

Hours before confirming Kailia’s death, her mom said her teenage daughter was supposed to be “graduating with honors” next month.
