Rapper, Flo Rida, Wins $82 Million In Lawsuit Against Energy Drink Company, Celsius

Rapper, Flo Rida, just had a major win in a lawsuit against energy drink company, Celsius.

A Florida jury ruled in Flo Rida’s – legally named Tramar Dillard – favor and awarded him $82 million in a lawsuit that claimed the company violated an endorsement deal with the rapper.

The rapper best known for songs like “Whistle” and “Low” had an endorsement deal that took place between 2014 and 2018. Dillard first claimed he was owed $30,000 for the violation of the agreement, but the sum increased as the company’s fortunes rose.

Dillard’s attorneys argued during the 5-day trial that Celsius had met key sales thresholds that entitled Flo Rida to additional stock amounting to a 1 percent stake in the business. They found that this stake was worth at least $75 million today.

Dillard also promoted the drink in his music video “My House”, which was used as evidence in this case.

In a statement released by NBC news, the rapper thanked the jurors, judge, and his lawyers for their involvement in his lawsuit.

“This was a long journey, but we prevailed. From the start, I only wanted what I worked for, nothing more, nothing less,” he said in his statement. “I was instrumental in the Celsius that you know and love today. When this journey began, no one knew Celsius. I took Celsius all over the world through my videos, concerts, appearances, and social media. I have gained a new respect for the judicial system. God bless America.”

Congratulations on your win Flo Rida!
