Former ‘American Idol’ Contestant, CJ Harris, Dead at 31

‘American Idol’ Alumni, CJ Harris, died on Sunday after suffering a medical emergency in Jasper, Alabama.

TMZ first reported the news, with a family member telling the outlet that Harris suffered a heart attack. An official cause of death has not been released.

It was reported that he was rushed to Walker Baptist Medical Center by ambulance.

Harris competed in Season 13 and came in 6th place overall.

He can be remembered for his audition where he performed the Allman Brothers’ “Soul Shine”.

Former judge, Keith Urban, praised CJ after his performance and told him, “You sing ’cause you have to sing, not ’cause you want to sing. And I mean that in the deepest way. And that’s why it’s so believable and real.”.
