PRINCE ESTATE TO RELEASE POSTHUMOUS ALBUM TIMELESS

A newly released track from the vault of Prince has arrived ahead of a major upcoming posthumous compilation album titled Timeless, set for release on August 28.

The 10-track project, curated by the Prince Estate and released through Legacy Recordings, features previously unreleased recordings spanning nearly four decades of the artist’s career—from 1977 to 2016. The album continues the estate’s efforts to preserve and share rare material from Prince’s legendary archive.

The first preview, “Stone,” a 1995 recording, is now available to stream. It follows the earlier release of “With This Tear,” a 1991 recording that helped set the tone for the project.

According to the estate, Timeless is designed to showcase Prince’s artistic evolution across every major era of his career, from his early days as a teenage prodigy in Minneapolis to some of his final recorded performances. The collection highlights his consistency, creativity, and genre-defying innovation.

The tracklist includes recordings such as “I Am You” (1977), “Heaven” (1985), “I Wonder” (1989), “Stone” (1995), and concludes with a 2016 live performance of “How Come You Don’t Call Me Anymore?”

The album will be released digitally, on CD, and in multiple vinyl editions, including a limited Purple Marble pressing.

The announcement coincides with Prince Celebration Week in Minneapolis, where fans will gather at Paisley Park and across the city for special events, listening sessions, and tributes honoring his legacy.

As Minneapolis continues to celebrate its most iconic musical figure, Timeless adds another chapter to Prince’s enduring legacy.
