A quiet community in Bedfordshire, England, has been left in shock after a mother and her two young daughters were found dead inside their family home, prompting an international murder investigation.
Police say Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, and her daughters, Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, were discovered dead at their £1.3 million home in Great Denham after officers forced entry following concerns that the family had not been seen for several days.
Authorities have identified Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, Zandile’s husband and the girls’ father, as the prime suspect. Investigators believe he boarded a flight from London’s Heathrow Airport to Zimbabwe on July 4, just before the bodies were discovered. Bedfordshire Police have released CCTV footage showing him at the airport and are working with international law enforcement agencies to locate him.
According to friends who spoke with The Sun, Zandile had recently asked her husband for a divorce, alleging he had become controlling. Friends said the separation had become increasingly bitter, with plans reportedly in place for the children to remain with their mother.
Neighbors described the family as appearing successful and happy from the outside, saying they had recently moved into what many believed was their “dream home.” However, those close to the family said cracks had begun to appear in the marriage in recent months.
Bedfordshire Police have urged Ndodana Tshuma to surrender to authorities, emphasizing that international borders will not prevent investigators from pursuing justice. Officials are coordinating with the UK’s National Crime Agency and authorities in Zimbabwe as the search continues.
The victims’ family released a statement describing their deaths as an “unimaginable loss” and thanked the public for their support while requesting privacy during this devastating time.
The investigation remains ongoing.
