Laurence Fishburne Set To Play Doc Rivers In FX’s Series

FX network has order a six-episode limited series titled The Sterling Affairs

The show will be about the downfall of Los Angeles Clipper’s owner Donald Sterling, who was given a lifetime ban from the NBA in 2014 after racists comments he made in a recorded conversation surfaced.

According to reports, actor Laurence Fishburne has been tapped to star as Clippers former coach and Philadelphia 76ers current coach Doc Rivers. Actress Jacki Weaver is set to play the role of Sterling wife, Shelly Sterling.

Gina Welch, who is also one of the executive producers of the show, wrote the series.

“Gina Welch has done a tremendous job of adapting this story for FX, showing the historic resolve and grace of Doc Rivers and the Clippers players during this shocking event,” Nick Grad, FX’s president of original programming, said, via Deadline.

A premiere date hasn’t been announced yet.
