Gregg Leakes, Husband of RHOA Star Nene Leakes Has Passed Away

Gregg Leakes, husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes, has died after a long battle with colon cancer.

A family rep confirmed the heartbreaking news.

“Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife Nene Leakes.”

The rep adds, “We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family & allow them to mourn in private during this very very difficult time.”

Nene prepared fans for this loss a few days ago at an event, saying “My husband is transitioning to the other side.”

She also expressed her feelings in a post with a heartbroken emoji and praying hands.

Nene and Gregg share one son, Brentt Leakes. The 22-year old posted an emotional message on his Instagram story (captured by the Shade Room).

“Spend time with your loved ones every chance you get. Time is so…valuable dog. I can’t express it. I’m learning the hard way watching my dad fight every day.”

He adds, “Please go create memories with ya people.”

Gregg also has five other children from a previous relationship: twins Damien and Daryl, Katrina, Dexter, and Delton.

The couple married in 1997, and Greg helped NeNe raise her older son, Bryson Bryant. They became one big blended family.

Real Housewives creator Andy Cohen sent his condolences.

Back in late June, Nene Leakes confirmed that her husband Gregg Leakes’ cancer had returned but went home after a 6-week stay in the hospital.

He was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer three years ago (June 2018).

The devoted husband put up a good fight for years.

He was 66-years old at the time of his death.

Sending love and condolences to the entire Leakes family. Rest in peace, Gregg.
