Comedian, Rickey Smiley, announced on Sunday that his son, Brandon Smiley, has passed away at the age of 32.
The Rickey Smiley Morning Show host announced the sad news on Instagram via a video. In the video, he states, “I just had bad news this morning. I’m on the way to the airport to get to Birmingham. I just want everybody to pray for me, pray for our family,” Rickey said in a video. “My son, Brandon Smiley, has passed away this morning.” (See Below)
Smiley did not reveal his cause of death in the video.
Smiley ended the video by saying, “I just want all my cousins and different family members to pray, be strong, and I’m OK,”. “Pray for my son’s mother and my son’s siblings, everybody that was raised with Brandon.”
Brandon Smiley also worked in the entertainment industry as a comedian and actor. Rickey posted a throwback video of his son during one of his comedy sets.
In the caption he states,
“Quick #StandUpComedy set by my son #BrandonSmiley at the @stardomecomedy three years ago”
Brandon leaves behind his parents, siblings, and daughter Storm.
