B.A.P.S. Star Natalie Desselle-Reid Has Passed Away

Natalie Desselle-Reid, the actress famously known for her role as Mickey in the movie B.A.P.S., has died at the age of 53. According to reports, the cause of death was colon cancer.

A family member told TMZ she died of colon cancer after having been diagnosed earlier this year. She was in hospice care in her final days, and was surrounded by family when she passed on.

Actress Holly Robinson-Peete broke the news Monday morning while offering her condolences.

The heartbreaking news was then shared on Natalie’s Instagram page.

“It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the loss of our beautiful Natalie this morning. She was a bright light in this world. A queen. An extraordinary mother and wife.


Her diverse career touched so many and she will be loved forever. Naturally, we are grieving and processing this profound loss and we thank you in advance for respecting our privacy at this extremely difficult time. 🙏🏽💔”

Oscar winner and B.A.P.S. co-star Halle Berry recently shared a throwback video on Thursday featuring her and Natalie.

Natalie has acted in several Black films: Tyler Perry‘s Madea’s Big Happy Family, Def Jam’s How to Be a Player and Brandy’s version of Cinderella. She also made appearances in Built to Last, For Your Love, and the UPN series, Eve.

She leaves behind her husband of 17 years, Leonard (Lenny) Reid, and their 3 children Sereno, Summer, and Sasha.
