Award-Winning Singer Lee Williams Of Lee Williams And The Spiritual QC’s Has Passed Away

Today we have lost one of the most popular Gospel singers in the world. Lee Williams, the founder and leader of the fantastic group Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC’s, died Monday in Tupelo, Mississippi at the age of 75.

The Spiritual QC’s shared the heartbreaking news.

It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our fearless leader, Dr. Lee Williams. We thank God for allowing him to Stop By On His Way Home, and though he has moved from his temporary house, the love, the memories and the music will linger on. We will always remember that to Give Up is not an option if we want to be Welcomed Home.Funeral arrangements and other info will be announced at a later time. The legend has been battling Alzheimer’s since he begin traveling and performing on the road. The soulful singer would always earned the reputation as a “the coolest man in gospel.”

Lee Williams and The Spiritual QC’s made their first national recording in 1996 at the Georgia-based label MCG Records. “Jesus Is Alive And Well” was their first album, which included breakout hit “I’ve Leaned To Lean.”

In 2000, Mr. Lee and The Spiritual QC’s released their third recording entitled “Good Times,” which reached to the Top Ten Of Billboard’s Gospel Album chart.

In 2006, the group released one of their biggest hits, “Cooling Water,” with award-winning gospel artist Melvin Williams.

Lee Williams is survived by his wife of 50 plus years Annie, children, grandchildren, and a host of family and friend.
