Myles Garrett Traded to Rams in Blockbuster Deal with Browns

The Cleveland Browns are reportedly finalizing a blockbuster trade that will send star pass rusher Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, marking the end of an era for one of the franchise’s most dominant defensive players.

According to multiple reports, the Rams will acquire Garrett in exchange for Pro Bowl edge rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round draft pick, and additional draft compensation that is still being finalized.

The move comes just one year after Garrett publicly requested a trade from Cleveland before ultimately signing a four-year, $160 million contract extension that included $123.5 million in guaranteed money. Despite recommitting to the Browns, speculation about his long-term future with the franchise continued throughout the past year.

Garrett departs Cleveland as one of the most accomplished players in team history. The two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year has been the face of the Browns’ defense since being selected first overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. Widely regarded as a future Hall of Famer, Garrett is coming off a historic season in which he recorded 23 sacks and captured his second Defensive Player of the Year award in three seasons.

Following news of the trade, Garrett shared a farewell message to the city of Cleveland and Browns fans, thanking them for their support throughout his career and reflecting on his growth from a young prospect into one of the franchise’s all-time greats.

For the Rams, the acquisition signals an aggressive push toward another Super Bowl championship. Los Angeles has already made several major moves this offseason, and adding Garrett gives the team one of the NFL’s most feared defensive playmakers.

The trade also brings significant value back to Cleveland. Verse, the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year, is considered one of the league’s brightest young pass-rushing talents and could become a cornerstone of the Browns’ defense for years to come.

While much of the NFL world was focused on other offseason headlines, the Browns and Rams quietly worked to complete what is expected to go down as one of the biggest defensive trades in league history.

With Garrett now headed to Los Angeles, the Rams have made it clear: they are all in on winning a championship.
