Russell Wilson Reportedly Finalizing CBS Sports Analyst Role

After nearly 15 seasons in the NFL, Russell Wilson is reportedly set to begin a new chapter in his football journey. According to multiple reports, the 10-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion is finalizing a deal to join CBS Sports as an analyst for the network’s NFL coverage.

Wilson, 37, reportedly accepted an offer to join CBS Sports’ Sunday pregame programming despite also receiving interest from the New York Jets to serve as a backup quarterback behind Geno Smith. While it remains unclear whether Wilson is officially retiring or simply stepping away from playing, his move to television marks a significant transition in a remarkable football career.

The former quarterback is expected to join a CBS lineup that includes James Brown, Nate Burleson, and Bill Cowher. He will reportedly fill the role vacated by Matt Ryan, who recently returned to the Atlanta Falcons organization as president of football.

Wilson leaves behind one of the most accomplished careers of his generation. Across stints with the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants, he compiled 46,966 passing yards, 353 touchdown passes, 5,568 rushing yards, and 31 rushing touchdowns. He led Seattle to two NFC championships and a victory in Super Bowl XLVIII while earning a reputation as one of the league’s most dynamic dual-threat quarterbacks.

Whether this marks the official end of his playing career or simply a pause, Wilson’s football knowledge, leadership, and experience should make him a valuable addition to CBS Sports’ NFL coverage.

Congratulations to Russell Wilson on his first NFL analyst role and best wishes as he begins this exciting new chapter behind the desk!
