Wunmi Mosaku and Aldis Hodge are set to star in One Night Out, a new thriller from Amazon MGM Studios’ Orion Pictures that follows a troubled married couple whose rare date night becomes a desperate race to save their children.
Directed by George Tillman Jr., the film centers on the couple after they spot an intruder inside their home through a nanny camera while their three children are with a babysitter. One Night Out is expected to stream worldwide on Prime Video, though the studio has not announced a release date.
A Night Out Turns Into a Nightmare
Based on a short story by Nelson Greaves, who also wrote the screenplay, One Night Out centers on a married couple experiencing problems in their relationship. Hoping to enjoy a rare night out together, they leave their three children at home with a babysitter.
But their evening takes a frightening turn when they spot someone inside their house through the nanny camera. Suddenly, the couple must race home and put their differences aside to work together to protect their children.
The suspenseful premise combines family drama with a race-against-time thriller, placing the couple’s relationship and their children’s safety at the center of the story.
Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo also worked on revisions to the screenplay. Tillman will direct the project, which marks a collaboration he has wanted to pursue for some time.
“I’ve wanted to work with Aldis and Wunmi for years,” Tillman said, explaining that they had discussed collaborating before finding the right project in One Night Out.
Wunmi Mosaku and Aldis Hodge Bring Acclaimed Résumés
Mosaku has earned widespread recognition for her performances across film and television. She received an Academy Award nomination for her role as Annie in Ryan Coogler’s supernatural thriller Sinners. She is also known for playing Hunter B-15 in Marvel’s Loki and for appearances in Lovecraft Country and His House.
Hodge has established himself as a versatile leading man, with credits including Prime Video’s crime drama Cross, in which he stars as detective Alex Cross, and the DC superhero film Black Adam, where he portrayed Hawkman. His other work includes One Night in Miami and The Invisible Man.
Their pairing brings together two performers with experience in intense, character-driven stories. In One Night Out, they will face a different kind of danger, one that threatens the safety of their family and forces their characters to confront a crisis together.
With Tillman directing and a suspense-filled premise, One Night Out is shaping up to be a thriller to watch. Further casting details and an official release date have not yet been announced.
