Woman Dies After Shooting At Beverly Crest Mansion Party During Pandemic

When California residents were ordered to avoid large gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic, hundreds of party goers gathered at a Beverly Crest mansion that ended in a deadly shooting.

The shooting occurred at around 1:15 a.m. early Tuesday morning at a home in the 13200 block of West Mulholland Drive, the Los Angeles Fire Department reports.

In an Instagram video posted by one partygoer, about 20 gunshots could be heard as people tried to run to safety.

According to the partygoer, the shooting was a result of gambling gone wrong.

Shooting begins at the 4:28 mark. Viewers Discretion advised.

According to CBS Los Angeles, Officers arrived on scene to find two women and a man with gunshot wounds, Los Angeles police Lt. Chris Ramirez said at a news briefing Tuesday morning.

All three were rushed to local hospitals, where one of the women, believed to be about 35-years-old, died. A commenter under the video of the incident said that it was her cousin Brandy who passed away.

The two others were in stable condition, Ramirez said.

A fourth woman suffered a non-firearm-related wrist injury while fleeing. Another man who was at the party checked himself into a local hospital, but later checked out. No names were released.

Sources say that the Hollywood Hills party was being held for an individual who was just recently drafted into the NFL.

Officers were called to the location before the shooting because neighbors were concerned about the partygoers not following the social distancing guidelines; however, officers state they couldn’t enter the property without a warrant.

There’s no word on the shooting suspects. If anyone has any information, call LAPD at (213) 486-1000.
