Teyana Taylor and her husband former NBA player Iman Shumpert have separated after 7 years of marriage.
The multi-talented actress, singer, and director shared the news on social media Sunday while clearing up a few rumors that have been circulating concerning her and Iman’s relationship.
“AHT AHT! Not too much on my bestie! In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while. To be 1000% clear, “infidelity” ain’t one of the reasons for our departure,” Teyana wrote.
She adds, “We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children. Most importantly we are FAMILY & in the 10yrs together, 7yrs married we ain’t ever played with or about THAT. We just keep y’all asses out the group chat lol, which is the reason we’ve been able to successfully & peacefully separate without all of the outside noise.”
She concluded, “The only reason I’m even sharing THIS part of the chat is because the narratives are getting a little out of hand & it’s unfair to all parties involved. I hope this provided some clarity for y’all. Okay AunTey taking y’all back out the chat bye! 😘❤️🌹”
Teyana is making it clear that Iman is NOT having an affair. According to some reports, Iman was being accused of cheating on his wife, Teyana. In a social post from The Neighborhood Talk, a woman is wearing a chain similar to Iman’s. In a video that the blog site posted, they allege that the basketball player’s voice can be heard in the background.
The woman who is being accused left a comment under the post stating, “That’s MY CHAIN,” She added, “I’m not wearing his chain, we are just friends.”
The woman, whose instagram handle is @ayy_mamiii_, clapped back at the claims to clarify that she and Iman aren’t romantically involved and only have a working relationship. The former Cleveland Cavaliers player owns his own record label. The woman claims that she is on the roster, and is defending that she was not wearing Iman’s chain but that it is her own. She says that several artists on the label have that chain, not only Iman.
Teyana and Iman have been together for over 10 years and got married in 2015. They also share two children, Rue Rose, 3, and Iman “Junie” Tayla, 6.
Prior to announcing their separation, Taylor’s last post featuring her husband was on his birthday in June. She called him a “king” in the lengthy caption as she described him as “one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received.”
“Your birthday will always be one of my favorite days…Because on this day 33 years ago a super dope human being was born. My best friend, my husband, my children’s dad, my other half,” she continued. “Crazy how ya bday feels like my day cause you a gift.”
As for Iman, his last post about his wife came on Mother’s Day in May. He celebrated the mother of his two children.
“Happy Mother’s Day to the one my children got here with. This lady played Inez so good you woulda thought she stole Junie and Rue 😭 (if u haven’t seen A Thousand and One go do that asap!)”
He continued, “Your strength, persistence and patience has never ceased to amaze me. As we continue to celebrate you year in and year out for being all you can be I love that we take time every year for this holiday.”

Iman hasn’t made a statement or commented on the separation as of yet but Teyana said enough for them.
We love seeing these two together and hate this is happening but wish the best for both of them and their beautiful family.
