Stand-Up Comedian And Sitcom Writer David A. Arnold Dead At 54


We’re saddened to share the sudden passing of comedian, writer, and producer David A. Arnold. According to his family, David died Wednesday from natural causes at his home. He was 54.

The family shared the heartbreaking news in a statement.

“It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our husband, father, brother and friend, David A. Arnold. Please keep our family in prayer and respect our privacy at this time as we are all shocked and devastated by this loss.”

The veteran funny-man had recently worked behind the scene as a writer/producer on Netflix’s Full House reboot. David also created a series entitled That Girl Lay Lay on Nickelodeon. 

He secured the bag with 2 Netflix stand-up specials: David A. Arnold: Fat Ballerina and It Ain’t For The Weak (which was produced by Kevin Hart and his team). He was just three shows into his four-month national comedy tour “Pace Ya Self.”

On Saturday, David shared an Instagram video of him exercising.

He looks so clean and fit, right?

David worked on several productions as a comedy writer. His credits include Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns, House of Payne, The Rickey Smiley Show, Raising Whitley, and The Real Husbands Of Hollywood

Kevin Hart mourned the loss of his good friend and shared a post on Instagram.

David is survived by his wife Julie L. Harkness and two children, Anna-Grace and Ashlyn

It seems like David A. Arnold was just getting started.
