Snoop Dogg And 50 Cent Developing “Murder Was The Case” Drama Series

Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent are teaming up to create a drama series based on Snoop’s old murder trial case.

The rappers are developing A Moment in Time: Murder was the Case that will air on the Starz network. They both shared the news on their social media pages.

This will mark Starz second anthology series with 50. Last year it was announced that he was developing A Moment In Time: The Massacre.

According to Deadline, the second series will tell how Snoop was charged back in 1993 with the first degree murder of Philip Woldermariam, a member of a rival gang. After further investigation, Philip was actually killed by Snoop’s bodyguard, McKinley Lee, aka Malik.

The trial was going on during the release of Snoop’s debut album that included hit song, “Murder Was The Case.” The publicity of the case boosted sales, but it hurt Snoop’s case.

He was represented by attorney Johnnie Cochran at the time.

The series will show what Snoop experienced during the trial. Snoop and 50 are both executive producers, alongside their production companies.

Starz network are currently looking for a writer. There’s no air date at this time.
