Sherri Shepherd Undergoes Emergency Surgery, Plans To Return Hosting “The Wendy Williams Show”

Sherri Shepherd had to miss her guest hosting gig on the Wendy Williams Show Monday due to undergoing an emergency appendicitis surgery, but the actress and TV personality plans on returning to the show Tuesday.

Sherri’s rep shared her surgery news in a statement. She then added, “The procedure was successful and Ms. Shepherd is doing fine and resting.” 

The statement continued, “She is absolutely devastated that she will not be able to guest host The Wendy Williams Show today, but she is following doctors orders and expected to make a full recovery. Thank you all for understanding and respecting her privacy.” 

According to MayoClinic, appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix, a finger-shaped pouch that projects from your colon on the lower right side of your abdomen.

Sherri was schedule to host the show all week. She was replaced by actor and comedian Michael Rapaport.

Michael confirmed the news on the Monday episode of the show.

Later in the evening, Sherri posted a video on social media sharing that she will be returning back to the show tomorrow.

This has been a rough couple of weeks for Sherri. Recently she shared that she lost her beloved fur baby to cancer. Although she was in mourning, she still move forward with guest hosting the Wendy Williams Show.

We’re so happy the surgery was a success and that Sherri is doing well.
