NBA Player, Ja Morant, Apologizes After A 2nd Video Surfaces of Him Flashing A Gun

NBA Player, Ja Morant, is suspended once again after recent video surfaces of him flashing a gun on Instagram Live. The Grizzlies player was suspended for eight games two months ago for the same reason but sources say his punishment this time around could be more harsh.

“We are aware of the social media video involving Ja Morant,” the Grizzlies said in a statement. “He is suspended from all team activities pending League review. We have no further comment at this time.”

JaMorant’s 2nd Video:

The 23-year-old released a statement via ESPN and started off by saying “I know I’ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me,” He continued, “This is a journey and I recognize there is more work to do. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full accountability for my actions. I’m committed to continuing to work on myself.”

Morant was previously suspended in March after a video was posted of him flashing a gun at a nightclub in Denver. Following his 8 game suspension, he reportedly checked himself into a counseling program in Florida.

Ja Morant’s Video back in March:

NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, spoke out regarding the situation and said he was ‘shocked’ at the 2nd gun video. Silver cited discussing “safety issues” with Morant — that he could have injured or killed somebody. In addition, the example he’s setting for “millions if not tens of millions of kids.” He added that the league is investigating the new video, but that “I’m assuming the worst.”

Morant was the No. 2 overall pick out of Murray State in the 2019 draft. He averaged 26.2 points, 8.1 assists, and 5.9 rebounds during the 2022-23 regular season. He has already made two All-Star teams and one All-N.B.A. team. In 2020, he won the Rookie of the Year Award. Morant has deals with some well-known brands including Nike and Powerade.
