Lifetime Releases First Trailer Of Wendy Williams’ Movie

It’s about that time. The story of media mogul Wendy Williams will be available for all to see on the silver screen. Lifetime has revealed the airdate and released the trailer of Wendy’s biopic.

The talk show host executive produces the biopic on her life, revealing the highs and lows she has experienced throughout the years. Wendy, who is usually the go-to person for celebrity gossip, found the spotlight turned on her when she encountered turmoil in her life.

The authorized project provides a revealing look at Wendy’s journey, from her scrappy upstart days in urban radio to the success of her own syndicated talk show. It also highlights the downfall of her marriage, challenges in her health, and her struggle with substance abuse.

Ciera Payton takes on the lead role while Morocco Omari stars as Wendy’s ex-husband Kevin Hunter.

The project is produced by Front Street for Lifetime and executive produced by Wendy Williams, Will Packer and Sheila Ducksworth. Darren Grant directs from a script written by Leigh Davenport and Scarlett Lacey.

Following the film, will be a documentary. Wendy Willams: What a Mess,” will feature a raw and emotional interview with Wendy.

Despite all the naysayers and obstacles Wendy encountered throughout her life, her strength and determination have allowed her to thrive. 

The movie will premiere Saturday, January 30 at 8/7c p.m., and the documentary airs at 10/9c p.m. only on Lifetime.
