Jennifer Hudson Shines In Aretha Franklin’s Biopic “Respect” Trailer

Award winning actress, Jennifer Hudson, is staring as beloved Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, in MetroGoldWyn biopic “Respect,” and the official trailer has been released.
The film is named after #ArethaFranklin’s iconic song “Respect.” It follows Mrs. Franklin’s climb to fame “from singing in her father’s church, to becoming one of the most legendary musicians of all time,” as Variety reports.
She received 18 #Grammy Awards and was nominated a total of 44 times during her career. She was a part of the film’s production until her death of pancreatic cancer at 76 in 2018.

The film was scheduled to release this August but was pushed back due to COVID-19. The film is now set to release in select places on Christmas day and officially on January 15th 2020.
The film will star icons Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Marc Maron, Tate Donovan, Tituss Burgess and newcomer Sky Dakota Turner.
