Four Black Actresses Set To Direct Upcoming BET Her Short Films

Our ladies are doing it! Actresses Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kim FieldsVanessa Bell-Calloway, and Victoria Rowell are set to direct four female-centric original short films that are produced by Tressa Azarel Smallwood and will air on BET Her initiative.

According to Deadline, shooting began this week in Maryland. The 20-minute films will cover topics that families deal with such as breast cancer, and mental health. These movies will fall under the BET Her “Her Stories.” The platform is to empower the next generation of Black women filmmakers.
