Family-Approved Michael Jackson Biopic Picked Up By Lionsgate

The story of Michael Jackson is headed to the big screen and Lionsgate Motion Picture Group has received the distributing rights.

The biopic Michael will show an in-depth portrayal of the King of Pop’s life. It will bring to life Jackson’s most iconic performances as it gives an informed insight into the entertainer’s artistic process and personal life.

The Jackson family has given the creators of the film their blessing.

“Ever since Michael was little, as a member of The Jackson 5, he loved the magic of cinema. As a family, we are honored to have our life story come alive on the big screen,” the family matriarch, Katherine Jackson, said in a statement.

The “Thriller” singer is one of the biggest-selling artist of all time, with an estimated sales of 400 million records around the globe. The legend passed away back in June 2009.

The film will be co-produced by John Branca and John McClain, who are the co-executors of the Michael Jackson estate.

Three-time Oscar nominee John Logan is writing the script and is teaming up with Oscar-winning producer Graham King.

King is responsible for producing great biopic films like Bohemian Rhapsody and Ali, so Michael should be another box office hit.

The cast and creative team for Michael have not been announced as of yet.
