Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, 50, revealed his mother, Ata Johnson, 74, was involved in a serious car crash. The crash reportedly took place late Wednesday in Los Angeles. The actor and former WWF icon shared a photo of the severely damaged car on his Instagram account on Thursday.
‘The Rock’ began the caption under his post saying:
“Thank you God đđŸ sheâs ok. Angels of mercy watched over my mom as she was in a car crash late last night.”

He continued:
“Sheâll survive and continue to get evaluated.”
“This woman has survived lung cancer, tough marriage, a head-on collision with a drunk driver and attempted suicide. Sheâs a survivor, in ways that make angels and miracles real,” he wrote.
He went on to thank the Los Angeles Fire and Police Departments for being “so caring & focused.”
“I got one parent left, so if you still got your mom and dad make sure you hug âem hard, cos you never know when youâll get that 3 am call we never want to get,” he concluded.
As Dwayne mentioned in the post, he only has one parent still alive. Unfortunately, his father, Rocky Johnson, passed away at the age of 75 from a massive heart attack in 2020, according to USA Today.
Additionally, Dwayne mentioned how his mother overcame many challenges, including attempted suicide. He revealed this in an Instagram post where he discusses how he saved his mother’s life when he was 15 years old. In the post, he wrote, “She got outta the car on Interstate 65 in Nashville and walked into oncoming traffic. Big rigs and cars swerving outta the way not to hit her.” He continued, “I grabbed her and pulled her back on the gravel shoulder of the road,” he wrote.
Furthermore, he stated, that his mother does not remember the suicide attempt.
“Whatâs crazy about that suicide attempt is to this day, she has no recollection of it whatsoever,” he continued. “Probably best she doesnât.”
We are so happy to hear that The Rock’s mother is doing fine after the crash.
