Dr. Dre, Nick Cannon Host Food Giveaway In Compton

It’s no secret that many Americans have been struggling since the coronavirus pandemic begin, but thankfully there are good-hearted people in the world to help in times of need.

Famed-producer Dr. Dre took the time to give back to the city of Compton– the city where he was born and raised in the “Feed Your City” food giveaway drive on Sunday.

Other celebrities who joined him in this great cause was Suave House Records CEO Tony Draper, retired NBA star Ricky Davis, and radio/TV host Nick Cannon.

Nick mingled and took photos with the excited crowd while music bumped in the background. It seemed to be one big party. A marching band got down on the drums and people danced all over the nearby basketball court.

According to TMZ, Compton Mayor Aja Brown, Power 106 and 93.5 KDAY helped organize the event.

Due to COVID-19, all precautions were in place. Attendees wore masks, there was a one-lane drive-thru and another line for walk-up and social distancing was in practice as much as possible.

The “Feed Your City” campaign gives free groceries to people in need. The groceries include: turkey for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to help keep families safer from the coronavirus. Their goal is to reach over 4,000 community members.

As Cannon was leaving, he was asked what he wanted for Christmas and he replied, “Unity. Peace on Earth.”

Sounds like a good day for Compton.
