Tyler Perry Surprised Winn-Dixie Shoppers In Louisiana By Paying For Their Groceries

Tyler Perry is clearly doing his part to help people amid the coronavirus crisis.

Previously, we reported that the filmmaker gave 42 waitresses a $21,000 tip at one of his favorite restaurants in Atlanta — Houston’s. Now Tyler is giving back in his home state of Louisiana.

Shoppers at various Winn-Dixie locations in Louisiana were surprised Wednesday morning when they received a paper slip that read, “Random Act of Kindness,” and then found out their groceries were fully paid for when they checked out.

According to WDSU News, a spokesperson for Winn-Dixie confirmed the giveaways. The paper slips were handed out at the stores and instructed shoppers to check out by 8 a.m.

Herb Brown, who went to the store in Terrytown with his wife, said he received one of the slips but wasn’t told who it was from and the cashiers wouldn’t tell him.

But according to recipients of the good deed, Tyler was responsible. They went to social media to thank him.

Other shoppers have been thanking Perry on social media.

Tyler Perry also made sure to buy groceries for the elderly, and its said that he did these acts at 73 stores.
