In a surprise announcement on Wednesday, Donnie Simpson said that “Video Soul” has returned.

The radio personality and host shared the news on social media along with a trailer that highlights artists like: Teddy Riley, K-Ci of Jodeci, Keith Sweat, The Fugees, Lecrae, and Yung Joc.

From 1981 through the mid-90s, R&B and soul artists had “Video Soul,” a platform dedicated to them and their work. The two-hour program ran on BET and was hosted by Donnie Simpson and Sherry Carter.

So far, there is has been an abundance of support for the return of the hit show. Many fans say that this is just “what the culture needs.”
