Death Row Records Singer Jewell Has Died

R&B singer Jewell, also known as the First Lady of Death Row Records, has reportedly died.

According to reports, Death Row former lead security Reggie Wright Jr. said she passed away at 5 a.m. on Friday (May 6), roughly two months after she revealed she’d been hospitalized with eight pounds of fluid on her heart, lungs, and legs. An official cause of death, however, hasn’t been confirmed.

Jewell Caples’ career started when she laid down vocals with Ruthless Records. She then followed Hip-Hop mogul Dr. Dre to Death Row Records.

She was signed to the label from 1992 to 1996 and had multiple hits with artists such as Dr. Dre, Tha Dogg Pound, N.W.A and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.

Some songs included “Let Me Ride,” “Gin and Juice,”, and “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?”

In 2011, Jewell self-published a memoir, “My Blood My Sweat My Tears.”

Sending condolences to her loved ones.
