Comedian and Actor Gilbert Gottfried Dead At 67

Comedy legend and actor Gilbert Gottfried has passed away after a long illness, according to a post by the family on his social media pages.

According to TMZ, Gilbert’s rep told them that he died from a heart abnormality called Ventricular Tachycardia due to Myotonic Dystrophy type II.

Gilbert’s career started back in the ’70s when he was a cast member on Saturday Night Live. He then became a standout when he appeared in other TV shows and films like the Cosby Show, Beverly Hills Cop II, and Problem Child. His iconic voice also stood out in the classic 1992 Disney film, Aladdin where he talked for the character Iago.

Gilbert was also the voice for the famous duck in the Aflac commercials.

Gilbert recently posted a photo of himself with Bob Saget and Louie Anderson shortly after Louie and Bob died with the caption, “This photo is very sad now. RIP Bob Saget and RIP Louie Anderson. Both good friends that will be missed.”

Gilbert leaves behind his wife, Dara, who he married in 2007, and his two kids, Lily and Max.
