David Akins, affectionally and professionally known as Sinbad, recently suffered a stroke but fortunately he is now recovering, according to his family.
It’s not clear when the 64-year old comedian and actor’s stroke occurred but the Adkins family has asked for prayers and privacy.
“It is out of sincere love that we share Sinbad, our beloved husband and father, is recovering from a recent stroke.
Sinbad is a light source of love and joy for many generations. While he is beginning his road to recovery, we are faithful and optimistic that he will bring laughter into our hearts soon.

Sinbad is mostly known for his standup shows, his acting role on “A Different World,” and many films such as: House Guest, Jingle All the Way, First Kid and Good Burger.
