Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing two new sexual assault lawsuits filed just 24 hours before his federal sentencing, intensifying the legal storm surrounding the music icon.
According to reports from TMZ and HotNewHipHop, the lawsuits were filed on October 2 and allege separate incidents of sexual assault. Details remain scarce, including the identities of the plaintiffs and the circumstances of the alleged assaults. The timing, however, has raised eyebrows across the legal community as Combs prepares to learn his prison fate on October 3.
Combs was convicted in July on two federal counts under the Mann Act related to the “transportation to engage in prostitution.” He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. Prosecutors are seeking a sentence of 51 to 63 months in prison, while his defense team has pushed for a reduced term of 21 to 27 months or time served.
The 55-year-old has remained in custody since his conviction, with Judge Arun Subramanian set to deliver the sentencing. On the eve of the hearing, Combs submitted a letter to the court asking for leniency, writing that he has been “reborn” and pleading for a second chance.
Legal experts note that while the new lawsuits are civil and separate from the criminal trial, their sudden filing could influence public perception and increase pressure on the embattled star. Civil cases require a lower burden of proof than criminal trials and often result in settlements rather than courtroom verdicts.
The lawsuits add another layer of uncertainty to a high-profile case that has already shaken the music industry. With sentencing just hours away, the new allegations cast an even longer shadow over Combs’ future.
