Details of the Wendy Williams biopic has been revealed. The newest Lifetime feature will cover the life of the media mogul which also includes sex, cocaine, date rape, relationships, and fat shaming.
“Just Wendy,” written by Wendy Williams and Leigh Davenport, will air sometime next year on Lifetime. The feature is being produced by Will Packer, who is responsible for box office hits such as: Straight Out of Compton, Little, and Stomp The Yard.
TMZ reports:
Lifetime sources tell TMZ … the biopic spans her life from ages 10 to 55, covering super intimate topics like her coke habit, sex romps, fat shaming from her family and a never-before-told story of date rape at the hands of a chart-topping artist.
Also on the table, according to our sources … her experiences with racism and sexism in Hollywood, details from her marriage to Kevin Hunter as well as her divorce and her relationship with Mo’Nique.
Now according to Mo, she Wendy, and a 3rd celebrity (unknown) were in talks with producers in the 90’s to start a talk show but it came to a halt after Wendy became loose at the mouth.
Mo said that Wendy told personal information about their potential co-host on her radio show after she was specifically asked to keep it a secret.
Here’s Mo telling her side of the incident (Forward to 38:38):
As far as the biopic, Wendy wants all of the actors to be relatively unknown, so they don’t take away from her story.
Sources say there will be at least 2 different Wendys in the movie … and she ain’t one; however, there are also reports saying that actress Robin Givens will be playing the lead role.
It’s unclear how much details Wendy will share regarding the demise of her marriage and her former husband alleged mistress and baby. One thing for sure, it should make an interesting movie.
