Police with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources is reportedly investigating an alleged lynching attempt that occurred on July 4th, according to the Indy Star.

Vauhxx Booker, who is Black, recounted his allegations on Facebook in a post that has since gone viral.

Booker said that he is okay, but was diagnosed with a minor concussion, some abrasions, bruising and some ripped-out-hair patches.

Booker is seeking justice and an explanation of why authorities approached the attackers first before checking on him.

The Mayor of Bloomingfield released a statement on Twitter expressing his “outrage and grief” over the “racially motivated incident.”
