We may know Tyler Perry as an accomplished movie mogul, but the acclaimed director is also a doting dad to his 4-year-old son Aman, whom he shares with longtime girlfriend Gelila Bekele — but like any doting father, sometimes you have to reel your kid in to get them in check.

Tyler shared details of a teachable moment he had with his son when he appeared on The Real on Monday.

The 50-year-old, who recently made headlines for becoming the only Black man in the US with a major movie studio, dished about the beauty of being able to feed into his son’s soul, something he said no one imparted to him during his childhood.
