Actress Tia Mowry shared a statement to her fans on social media that she and her husband, actor Cory Hardrict, are ending their marriage.
Before her announcement, TMZ revealed that the Sister, Sister star filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Tuesday–siting “irreconcilable differences.”
According to court documents, Tia is asking for joint physical and legal custody of their children.
She’s also asking the judge to terminate the court’s ability to give spousal support to either … and notes the couple has a prenup.
Before the news outlet’s report, she shared a message in her IG Story indicating that she was letting go.
Fans begin speculating on the reason for the separation but Cory put an end to those rumors under a post.
When a social media user commented on Cory’s Instagram page, suggesting that he “cheated on her,” the 42-year-old wrote back, “Lies!”
Tia’s twin, actress and former co-host Tamera Mowry-Housley, appeared on Today with Hoda and Jenna sharing support for her sister.
“I support her. So whatever she wants, the Mowry’s have her back,” the You Should Sit Down For This author, 44, said on Today with Hoda and Jenna.
“I love her dearly. She is strong, but I know right now she just kind of just wants to, you know, just kind of process it all, take it all in and be a little private about that,” she continued. “And as a sister, you know, I’m just going to respect that.”
Tia and Cory have been married for 14 years. They share two children together, 11-year old son Cree and 4-year old daughter Cairo.
