Tevin Campbell, Karyn White, Dru Hill And More To Be Recognized At Black Music Honors 2022

The 7th Annual Black Music Honors is finally here, and the award show will be honoring six musical icons: Tevin Campbell, Karyn Hill, Dru Hill, The Whispers, Keri Hilson, and Mary Mary.

“Can We Talk” singer Tevin Campbell will be honored with the R&B Icon Award. “Superwoman” powerhouse singer Karyn White will be given the Soul Music Award, and “Tell Me” singing group Dru Hill will be accepting the Urban Music Icon Award.

“Pretty Girl Rock” singer Keri Hilson will receive the Music and Songwriter Icon Award, the “Shackles” singing duo “Mary Mary will accept the Gospel Icon Award, and “Rock Steady” soul band The Whispers will be honored with the Legends Awards.

“We are more than excited to return to in-person taping for the first time in nearly three years with a live studio audience,” founder and executive producer, Don Jackson, said recently. “The pandemic had an unprecedented impact on the music industry and we’re honored to celebrate, commemorate and honor music trailblazers who have paved the way for the next generation of music and culture.”

Singer/actress LeToya Luckett and comedian/actor DeRay Davis, will host the event—performers and presenters will be announced at a later date.

The 2022 Black Music Honors award will be held at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta on Thursday, May 19. The ceremony will air on Saturday, June 25, on Bounce TV.
