Tamera Mowry-Housley Honors Niece Alaina Who Was Murdered By Mass Shooter A Year Ago

It’s been a year since Tamera Mowry-Housley and her family lost her niece to gun violence, and in her honor she vowed to make a change.

Tamera expressed her thoughts on The Real and on social media.

During a recent episode of The Real on November 4, the co-host tearfully reflected on the life lessons she’s learned since the deaths of both her 18-year-old niece Alaina Housley—who was one of 12 killed at the November 7, 2018 Thousand Oaks mass shooting—and her grandmother, who died two months later in January 2019.

Tamera shared on social media that they she and the family are fighting on Alaina’s behalf for change.

She also posted the last family Christmas card with Alaina.

“Every time my plane takes off I envision us flying together. A sense of calmness comes over me. Every time I go for a run, I sense you right by my side whispering, ‘You can do this.’ I love you sweet angel. The hardest part is the wait. Until we meet again.” — Tamera Mowry-Housley

The Housley family are still in our prayers. Rest in peace, Alaina.
