Tamar Braxton Rushed To Hospital Following “Possible Overdose,” Family Asks For Prayers

Tamar Braxton was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital Thursday night after being found unresponsive following a “possible overdose,” says reports.

According to the Blast sources, Tamar was staying at the Ritz Carlton Residences in Downtown L.A. with her boyfriend David Adefeso.

David found Tamar “unresponsive” and called 911 to report his girlfriend had been drinking and taken an unknown amount of prescription pills. Sources say he believed it was a possible suicide attempt.

LAPD confirmed that a 911 call was placed at 9:45 p.m. describing a 43-year old woman in a medical emergency and it was listed as a “possible overdose.”

A spokesperson for the Braxton family tells The Blast, “Tamar has had a very tough and emotional day — more information will be coming in the next few days. Please pray for her.”

Sources say Tamar has been extremely emotional due to an ongoing contract dispute with We TV.

The singer has been attempting to get out of her contract believing she has been screwed over for years. Things got worse this week when the trailer for Tamar’s new We TV reality show “Get Ya Life” was released. It’s said that Tamar felt blindsided by it and hated the way it portrayed her.

She vented about her contract with “Braxton Family Values” earlier this week.

In her latest Instagram video post with her son Logan, Tamar expressed that she was in need of a vacation.

Although Tamar isn’t happy with her contracts, she still stays pretty busy. She was a co-host on “The Real” for about 3 years, was the winner of  2019 CBS “Celebrity Big Brother.”

The R&B vocalist has also put out four albums, most recently 2017’s “Bluebird of Happiness,” and has starred alongside her famous sisters in “Braxton Family Values” since 2011.

She’s also the co-host for VH1’s show “To Catch a Beautician.”

Tamar and David do a live YouTube show called “Coupled & Quarantined” which was scheduled to air tonight but the show released a statement instead.

Authorities followed Tamar to the hospital to investigate. She’s in stable condition but still unconscious — she’s currently under 24-hour watch at the hospital.

Sending prayers for Tamar as she recovers.
