Rev. Jesse Jackson Enters Rehab Following Surgery

Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr. is on the mend! The longtime Civil Rights activist was admitted to Northwestern Memorial Hospital on Jan. 29 after experiencing abdominal discomfort.

The 79-year old then underwent surgery, and now he’s been admitted to Shirley Ryan Rehabilitation Center to recover.

Jackson’s surgery went well, but since he has Parkinson’s disease, doctors admitted him to the rehab facility for “a short period of exercise and therapy.” He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2017.
