Rapper Scarface Gets Life-Saving Kidney Transplant From Son

Legendary Houston rapper Scarface was given the life-saving gift of a kidney transplant from his son Christopher Jordan this week.

Jordan showed the heartfelt news on Instagram while sharing a positive update.

Scarface, whose real name is Brad Jordan, suffered kidney failure following a battle with COVID-19 in March 2020.

“COVID attacked my lungs first, and then it attacked my kidneys and knocked them out,” the rapper said in an interview with Fox DC in June. “I got full lung recovery, but my kidneys never came back.”

In October 2020, the rapper put a call out on Twitter for organ donors.

While some fans responded and said they were willing to give him a kidney, ultimately his son answered the call.

Since coming out of the successful surgery, he shared that his father is taking well to the kidney and they’re both doing good. He also updated his profile to read that he’s a #LivingDonor.

During an interview with fellow Geto Boys member Willie D last year, Scarface said his battle with COVID-10 was so bad, “I’ve been to the point where I just felt like I was just gonna die.”

“Don’t play no games with it,” he urged of his fans in regards to the virus. “I haven’t been nowhere. I’ve been in my house. I ain’t been on no planes, I ain’t been in no restaurants…People out there thinking this sh-t is a game? You don’t want to play with this.”
