R. Kelly Attacked By Fellow Inmate In Chicago Prison, Attorney Says

Things are getting a little rough for R. Kelly in prison. According to his attorneys, the Grammy-award winning R&B singer was attacked by a fellow inmate in his Chicago jail cell.

TMZ law enforcement sources say the inmate jumped on R. Kelly, 53, because he was angry the facility had been on lockdown a couple of times due to the singer’s protesters. They also stated that the fight didn’t last long because guards immediately stopped it.

R. Kelly was checked out by a doctor and he’s fine. He is now in solitary confinement for his protection.

His attorneys are now requesting that R. Kelly be released.

The “Bump and Grind” singer has been charged with several sexual assault counts and other charges in Illinois, Minnesota, and New York.

R. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to all the charges and is awaiting trial.
