Plumber Finds Hundreds Of Envelopes with Checks and Cash In The Wall Of Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church
About 500 envelopes filled with cash and checks were found hidden in a bathroom wall at Pastor Joel Osteen‘s Lakewood Church in Houston.
A man named “Justin,” who said he was doing some plumbing work at the time of the discovery, called into KILT-FM 100.3 radio station to tell the story.
“We went to go remove the toilet and I moved some insulation away and about 500 envelopes fell out of the wall and I was like ‘Oh, wow,'” the man said. “I went ahead and contacted the maintenance supervisor that was there and I went ahead and turned it all in,” the man told KPRC2.
A representative from Lakewood Church confirmed the findings Thursday and stated that the authorities have been contacted to investigate.
The exact amount is unclear; however, this find comes 7 years after Lakewood Church reported that $600,000 have been stolen.
There was a reward of $25,000 being offered to anyone with information in the case. We’re wonder if the plumber will receive this reward.
Pastor Joel Osteen hasn’t made a statement on this matter yet.
