Parents of Michigan School Shooting Suspect Has Also Been Charged

The parents of 15-year old suspect in the Michigan school shooting Ethan Crumbley has also been charged.

According to prosecutor Karen McDonald, the parents of Ethan Crumbley purchased the handgun on Black Friday as a Christmas gift for their son.

When parents Jennifer and James Crumbley were called to the school about a disturbing, violent drawing by Ethan, the parents did not inform the school about the new gun purchase.

McDonald went on to add that these charges are to hold the individuals responsible and to send a message.

Four students have died as a result of this shooting. Tate Myre, 16, Hana St. Juliana, 14, Madisyn Baldwin, 17, and Justin Shilling, 17. Authorities did not believe any students were targeted in particular.

Six other students and a teacher were wounded.

Ethan has been charged with 24 felonies, including four counts of murder and one count of terrorism.

If convicted, Ethan’s parents will face up to 15 years in prison for each count.
