Nicki Minaj Set To Executive Produce And Star In Animated Series, ‘Lady Danger’; 50 Cent Will Also Be An EP

Nicki Minaj is set to executive produce and star in a new animated series from Amazon Freevee called ‘Lady Danger’. The 40-year-old will be the voice of the title character.

The film is based on the comic book series, Dark Horse, written by Alex de Campi. According to Deadline, the story takes place in 2075 and follows an “agent who is left for dead by her team after discovering a dangerous secret, only to be resurrected as Lady Danger“. She keeps her identity a secret while facing “villains who are destroying the earth and its vulnerable inhabitants.”

Alongside Minaj, Curtis ’50-Cent’ Jackson is also an executive producer for the series through his G-Unit Film & TV company. This news comes after it was recently announced that 50 Cent is teaming up with Paramount+ and Lionsgate Television on the new original series Vice City.

50-Cent announced the news via Instagram:

In the caption he wrote, “What you doing today, we working @nickiminaj South Side you already know what it is. … I don’t miss,”

Minaj also shared the Deadline post on her Instagram and Twitter.

Nicki Minaj has previously done work with voice acting when she voiced Pinky in The Angry Birds Movie 2 in 2019. She also voiced Sugilite in three episodes of the animated series Steven Universe between 2014 and 2016. Additionally, she appeared in live-action movies such as Barbershop: The Last Cut and The Other Woman.

Minaj is also thriving with her music career after it was announced that she scored back-to-back number-one debuts on Hot Rap Songs Chart with her new single, Red Ruby Da Sleeze. The new release is the second single for her upcoming studio album NM5, according to Billboard. Tentatively set to drop in 2023, there’s no official word on when NM5 will be released.

Production for the film is currently under wraps and they have not released who else will star in it.
