NFL Star, Jalen Hurts, Receives His Master’s Degree From The University of Oklahoma

NFL Star, Jalen Hurts, has made yet another accomplishment.

The Philadelphia Eagle’s quarterback has received his Master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, according to CNN. The 24-year-old earned his degree online, majoring in human relations.

The ceremony took place at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma. In attendance at the ceremony was Dr. Randle Stevenson, the former chairman of AT&T. Hurts was also personally honored during the ceremony by OU President, Joseph Harroz Jr.

The Philadelphia Eagles posted a video of Jalen walking the stage via their Twitter account. They captioned the post saying:

“Mastered it. Congratulations to @JalenHurts on completing his Master’s degree. #FlyEaglesFly

This news come months after Hurts led the Eagles to an appearance at Super Bowl LVII. He also signed a five-year extension to his contract, making him one of the highest-paid players in NFL history on a per-year basis.

The quarterback has previously talked about being inspired by his mother, Pamela. “She went back to school, and she got her master’s to become a counselor,” Hurts told Essence Magazine in April. “That’s a living testimony for me.”

Hurts began his college career at the University of Alabama while leading their football team to the College Football National Championship games in 2017 and 2018. He then transferred and spent his last year of college at the University of Oklahoma. Jalen earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and information sciences.

“Finishing what I start, that’s important to me and my family,” he said. “I think it takes a certain dedication to do that, when you commit yourself to something truly and say you’re going to finish it. This was the time for me to finish it. It’s a great feeling walking across the stage, great feeling being able to see my loved ones’ smile after all of their support for me.

Congratulations Jalen!
