Michelle Stafford’s Surrogate Beat Cancer After Being Told She Only Had A Few Months To Live

Michelle Stafford, who most knows her as Phyllis Summers Newman on the hit soap opera the Young and the Restless, shared a beautiful testimony on Instagram.

For those who don’t know, Michelle has a daughter named Natalia, who she welcomed into this world via surrogacy 10 years ago. The woman who made it possible for Michelle to be a mom was Noel.

Unfortunately, Noel was given a grave cancer diagnosis — which she said she would beat. The doctors only gave her a few months to leave, but here it is a year later and Noel is still here and the cancer is nowhere to be found.

Here’s the entire testimony, via Michelle Stafford:

Some of you know, but not all of you, that a surrogate carried my daughter for me. This warrior came into my life after 3 years of constant, intense disappointment. I was spent. “Crispy” as I called it at the time. No woman really WANTS to have another woman carry her child.I felt like a complete loser. I was grateful that we have the medical technology to actually do something like that. That another woman can carry your own biological child. I mean… it IS remarkable. I am truly grateful now for that and for so many other reasons you will realize as you continue to read. Noel was an angel. She cared so much about me being able to be a mother. It meant so much to her. While she was carrying Natalia we spoke almost every day. I became very close to her family. They became MY family. Natalia’s birth was very dramatic. That’s an understatement. I’ll just say… They arrived at the hospital at 11:18 and Natalia was born at 11:23… yep. I missed the delivery it was so fast. Otis, Noel’s husband, delivered Natalia. I owe them everything. So, about 2 years ago Noel called me and told me she had just been diagnosed with stage 4 Gastroesophageal Cancer. They had given her a few months to live. She told me she was going to beat this. She told the doctors she was going to beat this. I believed her. It’s now about a year past the time they told her she would be dead… And… here she is… Not only that but there is no evidence of the disease in her body. The cancer is completely gone. All the doctors who gave her a little smirk when she said that she was going to beat Cancer and continue living are now asking what she did along with her chemo. They are taking notes and they are now listening to her. She has written down everything she did so she can help others. It is truly remarkable! It’s more than a miracle. I have the link to her blog in my bio. You can also email her directly at noelscancerbattle@gmail.com She wants to help others! I want to go back to 11 years ago when I felt like the most unlucky woman in the world… Little did I know that I would end up being the luckiest woman in the world having this warrior and her family in my life
